About Pilates, the Studio and what we offer...

What is Pilates

  

Pilates is a series of low impact exercises that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. Helping to build strength, balance, flexibility and body awareness on the mat or the Pilates Reformer, this form of exercise can be done at any age or fitness level.

Reformer

   

The Reformer uses a moving carriage attached to multiple springs for added resistance. Pilates Reformer classes are a low impact full body workout that can be done at all levels and ability. Sumas Mountain Studios now offers group reformer classes that can accommodate up to five people. 

Arc and Springboard


We offer a wide range of classes, including three different levels of classes for both the Arc and Springboard. Arc classes offer a creative and stable way to work your muscles. Springboard classes are a full body workout with various exercises from standing to lying down while using spring resistance. 

Specialty Classes

Sumas Mountain Studios offers specialty classes for various conditions including injuries and spinal conditions, as well as 

 pre and post surgical rehabilitation for knee, hip and shoulder replacements.

Pricing and Classes

Introduction to Pilates

An introductory class is required when you are new to the studio. Whether you are new to Pilates or have years of experience, this is an opportunity to meet, discuss your fitness goals and gain familiarity with the Pilates equipment. Ask about options for 2 or more for introduction classes.

2 sessions - $35 per class for the first two classes

Group Reformer Class Pricing

Group reformer Classes - maximum 6 people per class - build strength using small props, arc and Pilates Reformer.

Group of 10 classes

Drop In

Drop in classes are offered after you have completed minimum of 1 introductory class.

Private Sessions Pricing

Personalized Pilates workout. Build strength, flexibility, and tone through a program specifically made to suit your needs and goals.

Studio Etiquette

  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your class.
  • If you cannot make your class, please provide at least 24 hours notice. You will be charged a full class for less than 24 hours notice, as well as not showing up without notice.
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. 
  • No shoes required. Grip socks are preferred or regular socks.

    About Myself...

      

    I started teaching Pilates  nine years ago. My passion for Pilates began 26 years ago when I needed to find an exercise that I would stick with and would help strengthen my core muscles. I loved it so much I decided to become an instructor.  I combine my expertise and experience to offer sessions that are tailored to individual needs, ensuring that every client gets the best out of each session.

    I completed my level three comprehensive training diploma with Body Harmonics and continue to take specialized courses to benefit my clients.
